This project aims to empower Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people with disabilities by increasing their knowledge and skills to exercise their rights within the NDIS framework and to educate the IUIH Network in providing holistic health care services.

The project is community-informed and focuses on three main pillars:

  1. Workshops and Education Sessions: Delivering community and participant-designed workshops, consultation days, and education sessions for participants and their families to expand access to integrated health and disability support services.
  2. Workforce Education: Educating the IUIH Network to grow and develop a capable and enabled health and social services workforce.
  3. Development of Resources: Creating a suite of easy-read, culturally centred materials to help participants, families, and carers navigate the NDIS system effectively and advocate for themselves.

This project is funded by the NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission Grants Program.
